Random Post: Night of the Phantom of the Opera at CCP

Hello ladies! What's up? I know I've been gone for like a day or two, but that's because I've been working on a number of things lately. Projects, papers, and other things student related that kept me from blogging. But  last night, I was able to take a break from all of that. WHOO! My family and I went to CCP to watch the Phantom of the Opera and it was my first time seeing it onstage. I don't need to tell you this but even if you know how the story goes, or even know how the song goes, its all different seeing and hearing it live. I wasn't expecting to cry but I did! The last part left me quite the emotional person, even my dad felt the same thing. BTW,  that's my brother and mom right there. My dad wasn't there because he was the one who took the picture. :)

And this is how the stage looked like while we were waiting for Act 2.

And here's a picture after the show.

I'd love to see the Phantom of The Opera again. I don't know when, but if they do come back a few years from now, I just might!

Talk to you soon!

Review/Swatch: Nichido Matte Lipstick in Pink Lush and Divine/Nichido Satin Moist Lipstick in Nude Pink

Hello ladies! Today's blog post would be a short review/swatch coming from Nichido's matte lipstick line, one of my favorite local brands among others. I've had these lippies for quite some time now so I guess its only right to give you my two cents on it.

So basically this is how they look like:

Notice that the one in the middle is slightly shorter. That's because the gloss that came with it went loose, and when I tried putting it back on, it wouldn't budge anymore so I just left it at that.

I'm sorry they look dirty here! I told you I've had 'em for a while now..

Here are some swatches:

And here are my bare lips just for reference:

Pink Lush on my lips: (flash-without flash)

Divine on my lips:

Satin Moist Lipstick in Nude Pink on my lips:

Pink Lush: This is a nice color of metallic pink and unlike other pink lippies out there, this makes me look darker than my usual color, which is a no no for me unless I'm pegging for a mod look. It still enhances my dry lips even though I prepped my lips prior to applying this lippie so with that being said, I guess its not good for every day wear.

Divine: I apologize for not being able to fill my whole lips, I don't know why but this is mostly the case for me when I apply matte lipsticks, I leave some areas behind. Anyway, I love this color just because it is close to my natural lip color. Unlike Pink Lush, this does not dry my lips at all, YEY! I think the color is more of a coral with a hint of red to it.

Nude Pink: Now this lippie is from a different line called Satin Moist Lipstick. This is cheaper than the matte ones but I love it just the same. Among the three, this shade suits me best because this is closest to my natural lip color. Some people might not like the "moist" effect that it gives but I don't mind it at all because it gives life to my dry lips.

Overall, I love Nichido's lipsticks! I would recommend them to people new to make up because this is still cheap compared to other drugstore brands out there like Revlon, L'oreal, and Maybelline to name a few.. I got the matte lippies for 188php, and the Satin Moist lippie for 100php. They're available at all Watson's and SM Dept. stores nationwide.

How about you, have you tried anything from this line? Share your thoughts if you have! :)

That's it for today's blog! Talk to you soon!

Blogged: Mini Haul

Hello there ladies! What's up? Tonight's blog would be just a super quick mini-haul post on the things I got today. So after school, I went to Megamall because I ran out of my usual facial moisturizer which is Myra E. But I ended up buying a different one instead, and then some.

A friend recommended this to me about a year ago but I was perfectly happy with my Myra E (white tube) moisturizer then. But now I finally have it on the palm of my hands and I just can't wait to share to you my thoughts on this! :)
I must say, it was LOVE AT FIRST SWATCH! Click here for my review on this.. :)

I was supposed to get Tony Moly's pot concealer but they're out of stock so I settled for this instead. I got the one in Almond, w/c is the lightest shade. It has Tea Tree Oil too so we'll see how it works on my acne prone skin. Will review soon!

This is something I got on a whim. But I'm planning to store my make up essentials here so everything looks neat and in place

That's it for today's blog! Talk to you soon!

Review/Swatch: MandCo Crystal Shine Lipstick in Peachy Pink and Matte Lipstick in Pale Pink

Hello ladies! Today's another review/swatch day from this two products I'm currently in love with. If you were to ask me what my one make up must have, it is without a doubt, a lipstick!! Although you can't do away with wearing just that, unless you have super flawless face then by all means wear it alone, but if your face is as problematic and as oily as mine, you're gonna need more than just that. But even with that being said, it remains my favorite cosmetic. Anyways! On to the review...

I've had these two for a month now and so far I'm loving them. These babies I'm talking about is from a direct selling company called M&co which stands for Milk & Company. According to their website, they are the sister company of Kamiseta and they offer a wide variety of apparels, clothes, shoes, make up and bags. I honestly didn't know they also had a make up line so when they opened up a counter in Megamall (department store), I was hooked! I also have their Silk Creme Foundation and I will do a review on that later. If you want to check out more about their products, click here.

First up is Pale Pink.

I love the packaging of this lippie! Would you believe I only got this for 190php? It looks way more expensive with its sleek silver cap and gold tube. Very sophisticated looking if you ask me.

It also comes with a small pouch, with the the name of the company imprinted on it, so if you have plans of carrying this around, this is a good place to store it in!

Pale Pink isn't really going to make you look pale, per se. Its actually a nice muted color of pink with blue undertones so its a wearable daytime color for school/office. In my previous blogs, I told you how much I prefer matte lipsticks over glossy ones. I love this because it stays put all day at school, with little or no retouch at all. However, I find this to be a bit drying on the lips so I suggest you exfoliate your lips prior to using this product.

Next up is Peachy Pink. I'm sorry if I don't have separate pictures of this product, I couldn't find its box anymore so I decided to just write my thoughts on it. Now this lippie is from another line which is called Crystal Shine Lipstick. I know I said I preferred matte ones but this one isn't really that bad. I love it for those days when I'm in a hurry, which is almost everyday, and I have to be quick in applying my make up. My only gripe about this product is its packaging. It looks like its going to break easily if I don't go gentle with the tube, which isn't really that surprising since its only made of plastic. But I love the color anyhow!

                                                            Peachy Pink on my lips:

Pale Pink on my lips:

So I tried mixing them up out of curiosity and tada!

Overall, I love these two lippies and I would even recommend them. The only con I see as of now is its availability. It may be hard for some to get a hold of their products since they're a direct selling company, and aside from Megamall (dept.store), I don't know where else they have counters. So you're lucky if you're near the area! :)

Do share if you've tried anything from their line! Would love to hear about it! :)

Hi?

Can't sleep. My neighbors are too loud. What to do to kill time? :)

Ever Bilena Review & Swatches (Pink Flame, Mauvey, Scarlet, Off Beat Pink)

I hate myself for saying this but I have to be completely honest here. I haven't always been a fan of local products because one, I always had this idea that if its locally made, it cannot deliver the results that a high end brand can and two, I had lower expectations for local cosmetics because come on, it can't be that cheap and be just as good as the expensive ones out there! I refused to believe all of its claims but Ever Bilena proved me otherwise. Affordability and effectiveness can both be present in one product! Awesome, right?

I've recently fallen in love with this local brand after trying out one matte lipstick after the other from their matte lipstick line. These little babies definitely lived up to my expectations! No wonder everyone's been raving about this!

From the swatches below, it seems Off Beat Pink is darker than Pink Flame but really, its the other way around. I must have put two layers of OBP for it to be that way. I really don't remember, sorry! Among the four I really love Pink Flame because I like that pop of color it gives me. Its not too pink (like OBP) and not too pale like Mauvey. Scarlet, on the other hand, is also a lovely color of orange and red. Its too pigmented though so I don't think its fitting for school/everyday wear. Its a nice color, just not my cup of tea.

Here's how Pink Flame looks like. First is with flash, second is w/o.

Here's how Scarlet looks like:

Here's how Mauvey looks like:

And last, Off Beat Pink:

Pink Flame: This color is leaning towards the combination of pink +red, which I love!. How it will look like on you will vary upon your application so for me, I fix it with a tissue to tone the color down. The result is just perfect for school wear! Love this color and definitely would recommend!

Scarlet: Scarlet is a very nice color, just not something I'd wear on a daily basis. I've come to notice that not all EB Matte lipstick have the same formulation, some are quite drying, and some are just right, like this one. It doesn't moisturize, but what's important is it doesn't leave my lips looking flaky & dry. But I guess this'll be perfect if you're pegging for a classic pin-up look!

Mauvey: This color is very nice. Its very simple and perfect for everyday wear because its not as pigmented as Scarlet and other shades from this line. My problem with this though is that when I wear it w/ foundation alone, I don't get the glow I get from wearing Pink Flame. This shade is paler than the actual shade of my bare lips so I guess I'm better off without wearing this! But this is perfect if you are wearing a heavy eye make up or a simple smokey eye and you don't want to look overdone.

Off Beat Pink: This is also a very nice color, my second favorite color from the line actually. Since I'm a school girl and I don't want to look too made up when I'm going to class and all, I keep everything to a minimum. Like this one. You think just because I said its more of a "candy pink" that you can't wear it on a daily basis? Of course you can! Just remember to pat it with a tissue after application and the result is just puuurfect! Rose-y, natural looking lips!

I bought this four lippies at Watsons for 145php but I believe they recently upped their price and now they retail at around 155php. Ever Bilena counters are available at all Watson's outlet and SM Department Stores.

That's it for today! Thank you for reading my blog! See you on the next one darlings!

REVIEW: IN2IT Moisture Intense Lipstick in Berry

Hello ladies and gents! Today's blog would be about In2it Moisture Intense Lipstick in Berry. This is something I just picked out on a whim because aside from their pen eye shadows that I got just because it was 50% off, I don't have anything else from their line. If I'm not mistaken, they're a company from Japan so basically, their products still cater best to Asian women. So anyway.

When it comes to lipsticks, I am both a fan of matte and glossy ones but honestly, I use more matte when I'm in school because it stays longer than lip tints (for me anyway), lipbalms, or any other type of lip product. But I just had to give this a try since the swatches looked promising and all. I first tried the Pink Alarm since the SA told me its currently their best seller in their Moisture Intense Lipstick line, but when I tried it using my lipbrush, it was too pink for my taste. Hence its name, Pink Alarm. So I tried this instead. It looked good on my lips so I bought this instead.

I love that the tube is sleek and more metal made rather than plastic. Its very sturdy and will probably withstand any damage a plastic tube cannot. You can drop it 10 times (or more) and it will still be good as new. I also love the ornaments found on the lower part of the tube. Very chic if you ask me.

What Moisture Intense Lipstick claims to have/do:

I love that it doesn't dry out my lips. It has no fragrance too but then I wouldn't mind a little scent here. Another thing is that it has an SPF of 15, so you can bid your lipbalms goodbye because this has the same benefits anyway -- and then some! YEY!

First one is without flash and below is with flash.

I don't know why it looks rose-y in here but I promise it is more of a red than pink in person.

This is how it looks like when swatched.

Here are my bare lips just for reference.

Here's how it looks like in natural lighting.

And here's how it looks like with flash.

What I love about this product:

<>Packaging is sleek and sturdy<>
<>Affordable at 379php!<>
<>Doesn't dry out my lips<>
<>Has an SPF of 15<>
<>No fragrance<>
<>Can easily be applied<>
<>Leaves my lips moisturized even after I take it off <>

What I hate about this product:

<>It has no fragrance at all! I like my lipsticks to have a little bit of scent to them<>
<>Staying power is very poor (fades easily if you eat/drink)<>
<>Too pigmented for school wear<>
(***Whenever I wear this to school, I pat tissue on it so that it will be a bit toned down)
<>You might not like this one if you're not into glossy lipsticks, but you can always fix this by doing the above mentioned <>

Will you purchase this again?

Not anytime soon because I like my lipsticks to be matte (just because of its staying power).

Who would you recommend this to?

People looking for an affordable lipstick that can moisturize and protect at the same time.

My rating:

3.5/5

Available at Watson's and SM Department Stores
